Chulpan Khamatova has forgotten about the luxurious lifestyle she could have boasted of in Russia. Now, she is content with modest earnings.
For over a year now, Chulpan Khamatova has been living abroad. The actress, dissatisfied with Russia’s politics, moved with her children to Latvia, where she had previously purchased property in an upscale community. However, life in Europe turned out to be not as easy as anticipated. Initially, the actress was bewildered and didn’t know where to earn money, as her savings wouldn’t last long. Unexpectedly, Khamatova was invited to the New Riga Theatre. In the first few months, she had to perform in Russian, but later on, Chulpan learned Latvian.
Chulpan Khamatova admits that in Latvia, she earns a modest amount. Of course, this is quite different from the extravagant fees she used to earn in Russia. Initially, the Russian celebrity received 800 euros (75,500 rubles). Recently, her fee was increased, and now her income is 1200 euros (113,000 rubles). «This amount includes Chulpan Khamatova’s working hours at the theater, rehearsals, and tours. In addition, the actress continues to receive additional payments for each performance, as well as for her experience and recognition,» a source reports.
But the actress doesn’t plan to rely solely on theater fees. Khamatova continues to seek additional sources of income. For instance, she is scheduled to participate in a charity dinner in Jurmala. Interestingly, tickets for this event are sold for 10,000 euros (over a million rubles). The proceeds will go towards supporting the Ukrainian army.
By the way, many Russian artists have been disappointed in Chulpan Khamatova. The actress was awarded the title of People’s Artist, which she declined after moving to Latvia. «On a human level, I feel sorry for her because she lost everything. And she lost. She went ‘open-faced’ against her country, her compatriots. She thought it was an act of heroism. Perhaps she still believes she’s marching to the scaffold. Creative people have a very changeable psyche. Many can convince themselves of anything,» said Yana Poplavskaya, who took a patriotic stance.
