Your domestic cat is teaching the orphaned kitten to cuddle for entire days on end.

An animal advocate found a homeless kitten who was in dire need of medical attention. This kind woman is known by the nickname @MoongladeRose (Moonglade Rose), we’ll just call her Rose. The vets were able to bring the kitten back from almost the other side of the world, but he was shaken by the ordeal.

Rose named the baby Opie and brought him from the hospital to her home. However, she didn’t know how her pet Andy, a cat who was also rescued by her some time ago, would react. As soon as Andy heard the little guest’s squeak, he immediately came running at the sound. The adorable tabby wrapped his paws around his new neighbour and began to groom him diligently, as if he wanted to comfort the frightened child and show that he was welcome here.

«Andy was welcoming from the first second and never stopped hugging and kissing Opie,» Rose recalled.

Night fell, but the adult cat still didn’t want to leave his tiny mate. He stayed to guard him like a caring big brother. He took Opie under his wing, and between them instantly established a strong bond.

Andy really surprised his humans with the adoration he showed towards the new family member. Like Opie, Andy was once found at a petrol station and rescued from certain death.

The next morning Rose was awoken by meowing in two voices — it was our two lovebirds demanding attention and love.

«Opie seems to trust me and falls asleep quietly next to me. This little lump fits in one of my hands. And Andy loves him very much.»

For the next two weeks, Rose regularly got up at night to feed the kitten. After each meal, Opie would climb onto her chest, curl up in a ball and fall asleep with a sweet purr. Meanwhile, Andy was always nearby and kept his human mum and new furry brother company all night long.

When these two non-blood brothers snuggle up to each other, a rolling purr can be heard.

Before Opie came along, Andy was almost constantly hanging around Rose. Now he never leaves his little brother unattended for a second, caring for him and lovingly licking his fur.

Andy gives his brother lots of love and sets a good example. He has already taught him how to litter box, hunt, play and land on four paws. But more often than not, he’s teaching Opie the art of cuddling.

They are completely inseparable.

«I was adopted at one time too… And I always felt some kind of emptiness in my soul, even after I met my birth family. But Andy saved my life. And now Opie seems to be doing the same for Andy. As they say, what you sow is what you reap,» Rose shared.

It’s been six weeks since the little stray kitten joined the family. The two pets have become even closer. «Andy is endlessly adoring and protective of Opie. My lucky boys! I am so lucky.»
