Are they happy: quirks of the marriage of Kate Middleton and Prince William.

In every family, there are its own rules. But for many, the rules of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s family may seem rather peculiar.

Kate Middleton and Prince William married in 2011. Before that, they were linked by their studies at the prestigious St. Andrews University and a long-term relationship. Since the media found out about the romance of young students, Kate’s attention has been constantly fixed upon her. It didn’t bring her any pleasure, and she even had to turn to a lawyer due to constant interference by journalists in her personal life.

In 2007, Kate and William broke up, but soon rekindled their relationship. In 2010, Clarence House announced the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The celebration took place on April 29, 2012. Since Kate Middleton became the Duchess of Cambridge and later the Princess of Wales, her life has changed dramatically.

In every family, there are peculiarities that may be incomprehensible to many. For instance, the prince and princess invited their former lovers to their wedding. Arabella Musgrave, Jack Craig, Olivia Hunt, Karli Massi-Burch, and two of Kate’s ex-lovers, Rupert Finch and William Marx, were all present at the ceremony. Interestingly, not all of William’s and Kate’s former partners got along with the couple. For example, William and Kate had disagreements over their relationship with Jack Craig. It’s worth noting that Kate and William also attended the weddings of their exes.

Despite being married for many years and raising three children, Prince William does not wear a wedding ring. This is a common situation in the royal family. For example, King Charles III wears his wedding ring on the pinky finger of his left hand. Prince Harry obediently put on a wedding ring after marrying Meghan Markle. As for Prince William, Buckingham Palace made a statement before the wedding that he doesn’t like jewelry.

Two years after their wedding, Kate and William became parents. Due to William’s frequent work-related trips, the new mother often had to be alone with the newborn for extended periods, which led to feelings of loneliness. Three years ago, the princess visited the Illy and Carew Children’s Center in Cardiff. At that time, she publicly admitted feeling lonely after the birth of their first child.

I talked to some of the mums. It was the first year, and I had just had George – William was still working with the search-and-rescue helicopters – and we came up here, and I had a tiny, tiny baby in the middle of Anglesey. He was so isolated, so cut off. I didn’t have any family around, and William worked night shifts. So I would like to have a center like this,» Kate said.»

(Note: The names «King Charles III» and «Prince Harry» are used for illustrative purposes, as of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Prince Charles was the current heir to the British throne, and Prince Harry was a member of the royal family. The actual names may differ depending on any changes that have occurred since then.)
