The Grévin Museum in France redesigned the wax sculpture of Dwayne Johnson after criticism.

The Grévin Museum in France redesigned the wax sculpture of Dwayne Johnson after both fans of the actor and Johnson himself criticized the oddly smooth, light-skinned original.

The new version features darker skin, and the face of the 51-year-old Johnson appears less botoxed.

Veronique Berecz, the museum’s head of public relations, told Variety that, «Unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet Dwayne Johnson, so we used a few pictures, but as it turns out, pictures can be very deceiving because the nuances of skin tones are different depending on the lighting on the photographs. We just made the mistake of relying on the photos that we saw. As soon as we saw all the reactions in different blogs and social media, we immediately corrected it.»

However, Johnson is still dressed as a golfer.

Johnson had previously announced his intention to contact the museum to make some changes, starting with the skin color.
