Til Schweiger is planning to shoot three projects for Netflix in Armenia.

The German actor and director Til Schweiger is planning to shoot three projects for Netflix in Armenia.

Armenia has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the representatives of the director in the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport. The projects include UNDERDOG, DEAD BY DAWN, and COLLAPSE, an eight-part series. Filming is expected to begin in early 2024.

Recall that this summer, Schweiger visited Armenia at the invitation of actor Arman Nshanian. Armenian and German actors met during the filming of Mike Hatton and Asko Akopyan’s movie “Hollywood Robbery,” where their co-stars were Alec Baldwin and Mickey Rourke.

The film that Til Schweiger plans to shoot in collaboration with Arman Nshanian’s production company, People of AR, is called Underdog. “It is based on real events, telling the story of a Russian professional female wrestler who loses everything but then trains with her grandfather and decides to fight against injustice. She only fights against men and always wins. In fact, it’s a wonderful story,” says Schweiger, who spent time in Armenia exploring significant locations.
