Chocolate Cake a-la «Prague»

It’s not a biscuit, not sandy or puff pastry, I don’t know what to call it, maybe someone can tell me. You get lush chocolate cakes with a loose structure. The cream is classic.

I want to share a recipe for homemade cake. Of course, it is hardly «Prague» according to GOST, but I prepare it exactly like this. The undeniable advantage of this recipe is that the cakes and cream made with these ingredients and in this way, it is almost impossible to spoil.



Sour cream — 250 ml

Eggs — 2

Sugar — 1 cup

Vanilla sugar — 1 packet

Condensed milk — 0.5 cans

Soda, soda vinegar — 1 tsp.

Cocoa — 2 tsp.

Flour — 1.5 cup

Cherry or strawberry syrup — 5 -10 tbsp.


Condensed milk — 0,5 cans

Cocoa — 2 tsp.

Butter — 1 packet


Chocolate — 100 g

Cream — 2 tbsp.

Step-by-step recipe

We start with the preparation of the ingredients. Butter should be at room temperature. Pay attention to condensed milk — it should be like from the Soviet past, not «condensed milk» with milk fat substitutes. Cocoa is also better not to save money, as it gives a pronounced flavor of chocolate. But the sour cream can be taken and 15%.

Make the dough for the crust. Everything is very simple — mix all the ingredients in one bowl. You can use a mixer or a food processor, but I used to do it by hand, with a whisk. Adjust the amount of flour, you should get a thick but flowing dough.

Let’s start baking. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease the mold with butter, pour the dough into it. Bake for about 40 minutes, check readiness with a toothpick.

Make the cream. Again, it’s easy — mix condensed milk, cocoa and butter. Here it is better to use a mixer.

Assemble the cake. Cut the cooled cake into 2 or 3 parts, each of them is soaked with impregnation (I mix syrup with a small amount of water — it is better absorbed and not so sweet), then cover the crusts, sides and top with cream.

I sprinkle ganache on top. Heat the chocolate and cream in the microwave (it should not boil), stir. Pour the prepared chocolate mixture on the cake you can draw pictures with a fork. Let the glaze harden. Serve to the table. Have a nice tea party!
