Prince Harry and Meghan Markle adopted a chicken.

The Sussex Dukes rescued a feathered pet.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been living in the USA for almost four years. They acquired a mansion in Montecito, where many Hollywood celebrities also reside. By the way, Maria Sharapova recently bought a mansion there for 1 billion rubles. Nearby the residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, TV host Ellen DeGeneres lives. Ellen has many animals, and she also has a large chicken coop. Just before Christmas, one of her chickens experienced a tragedy.

The feathered favorite nicknamed Sinkey broke the tibia bone of her leg. Ellen managed to heal Sinkey, but due to the chicken’s weakness, other coop residents started to mistreat the injured one and could potentially harm her again. Therefore, DeGeneres decided that Sinkey needed to find a new family. The neighbors of the TV host, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, gladly agreed to help Ellen and adopted the chicken. «Sinkey’s leg has healed, but our chicks still picked on her, so we had to bring her back indoors. Fortunately, in the coop of our friends Harry and Meghan, there was room for one more. I’m not sure what her royal title will be,» DeGeneres joked. The artist showed Sinkey’s new place of residence.

A year and a half ago, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry adopted a homeless Beagle from a shelter named Mamma Mia. It’s worth noting that the couple are experienced dog owners. In their family, they also have a Beagle named Guy and a black Labrador named Pula. Before meeting the prince, Meghan had a German Shepherd named Bogart, but she couldn’t bring him to the UK, so the elderly pet had to stay with friends in Toronto. Interestingly, Meghan and Harry intentionally chose to adopt an adult dog from the shelter, giving a chance to a dog with lower adoption prospects.
