Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have been forced to move out of their $20 million mansion in California due to a mold infestation.
According to Page Six, the Hollywood couple and their two-year-old daughter Malti moved out of their dream home after their home, which was purchased in September 2019 for $20 million, became «virtually uninhabitable.»
The pool and spa at the 7-bedroom luxury estate, which also boasts an indoor basketball court and private movie theater, had «porous waterproofing» that caused «mold contamination and related problems,» according to a lawsuit filed by the couple’s trustee. According to court documents, the contamination made the rooms «virtually uninhabitable» and «hazardous to health.»
The lawsuit claims that serious damage was done and things did not go as expected. According to their trustee, because of this, Nick and Priyanka want to cancel the sale and are also seeking additional compensation. «In the alternative, Plaintiff should be reimbursed for all repair costs, as well as compensation for loss of use and other damages caused by Defendants’ actions,» the documents said.
According to the complaint, the waterproofing problems are expected to cost more than $1.5 million, with total damages estimated at about $2.5 million.
The publication reported that Nick and Priyanka are living in a new unknown location while the house is being renovated.
