Eight months ago, Natalie Portman filed for divorce from her husband, director Benjamin Millepied. And now, the former spouses are officially divorced. This was reported by  People.

The actress filed for divorce in July last year, and the process was completed last month in France, where 42-year-old Portman and 46-year-old Millepied live with their children — 12-year-old son Aleph and 7-year-old daughter Amalia.

Portman’s representative confirmed this news in an interview with People.

The breakup was not easy for Portman, especially when it was widely discussed in the media.

«At first, it was very difficult for her, but friends rallied around her and helped her through this stage,» said a friend of the couple.

«Natalie is emerging from a difficult and painful year and finding joy in family, friends, and work.»
