The Oscar-winning offspring of the iconic actress Judy Garland and the renowned director Vincente Minnelli, has endured the highs and lows, including setbacks like health issues and tumultuous relationships.
«I am so grateful for all the kind wishes and love that comes my way. Not just on my birthday, but always,» the superstar shared in a conversation with People.
«I’d like to know how to behave at my age. I’ve never been so damn old! Just keep going, baby, that’s the secret!» she joked.
She also shared plans for a «fabulous» celebration on her milestone day, including a gift from the Italian jewelry line Elsa Peretti.
«My dear friends [pianist] Michael Feinstein and Terrence Flannery are throwing a party in my honor,» she explained. «There will be food, wonderful music, and I’ve been told there’s a marvelous surprise waiting for me, and my only clue is Elsa Peretti!»
The incomparable star also shared her plans for the future. «I’m recording music again! And I’m involved in an exciting collaboration with a brand that will be announced soon.»
In 2000, Liza was diagnosed with viral encephalitis, which can cause weakness or loss of mobility in certain parts of the body. In recent years, Liza continues to struggle with health issues. She is often seen in public using a wheelchair.
