Cher will perform at the annual amfAR gala concert in Cannes on May 23, Variety reports.

«I have such wonderful memories of my friend Elizabeth Taylor inviting me to host one of the first amfAR events in Cannes,» said the legendary singer. «I am extremely proud to return for the 30th anniversary of this event and continue to support the incredible work of this organization. It will be a special evening.»

Since 1993, when international amfAR chair Elizabeth Taylor hosted the first amfAR gala concert in Cannes at the Moulin de Mougins, this charitable event has become one of the most coveted tickets at the festival and has raised $264 million for amfAR’s HIV/AIDS research programs.

Cher co-chaired the event with Taylor in 1996. In 2015, the singer was honored with the amfAR Inspiration Award at the gala concert.
