Madonna will give a historic free concert in Rio de Janeiro

Madonna has announced that on May 4th, she will give a historic free concert in Rio de Janeiro on Copacabana Beach as part of her latest Celebration Tour.

The concert, sponsored by Itaú Apresenta, «will be free as a token of gratitude to her fans for celebrating over four decades of her music during an epic global tour» and will be broadcast live on the TV Globo channel.

Tickets are not required for the event, which will take place in front of the Belmond Copacabana Palace hotel, with entry on a first-come, first-served basis.

Before heading to Brazil, Madonna plans to perform in Dallas and then stop in Houston, Atlanta, Austin, and other locations. She will also take the stage in Miami and Mexico City.

The pop music queen kicked off her long-awaited tour at London’s O2 Arena in October with an exhilarating two-hour performance, during which she talked about her return to the stage after being hospitalized last year due to a serious bacterial infection.
