Brad Pitt has declined the idea of joint custody of the children with Angelina Jolie.

Brad Pitt has withdrawn his attempts to seek joint custody of the children he shares with Angelina Jolie, reports DailyMail.

According to a source cited by the publication, the divorce process between the actors, which began back in 2016, is nearing its end and may finally be concluded next summer.

Initially, 60-year-old Brad sought a 50-50 agreement regarding their six children; however, he has now backed away from this demand.

This means that 48-year-old Angelina will retain full custody, while her ex-husband will have the right to visit their children.

One of the factors influencing Pitt’s decision was the age of the children: three of them are already 18, and Brad’s beloved Shiloh will reach this milestone in just a few weeks. Consequently, these young adults are no longer subject to custody laws and can decide for themselves with whom they want to live and communicate.

A source close to the actor assures that the rift between him and the children is «textbook.» Meanwhile, Angelina intended to prolong the divorce until the children reached 18.

However, friends of the actress insist, «Brad has no one to blame but himself. All Angelina wants is to heal her family and move forward.»

As a reminder, the former spouses have six children: three biological (17-year-old Shiloh, 15-year-old Knox, and 15-year-old Vivienne) and three adopted (22-year-old Maddox, 20-year-old Pax, and 18-year-old Zahara).

Pitt is on good terms with his biological children, but the older ones «still haven’t repaired their relationship» with their father. For instance, Pax publicly insulted his father at the end of 2023, stating that he turned their lives into hell.
