The woman was alone at home when she heard knocking on the door. The knocks turned into banging. However, as she wasn’t expecting anyone, she decided not to open the door.

As the knocks grew louder, she became frightened and decided to wait a while before going out to check if anyone was still there.

After a while, as the person seemed to have left, she went downstairs and opened the front door, and that’s when she noticed there was an elastic band on the door handle. Perplexed and unsure of what it could be, she decided to call the police to report the incident.

When the police arrived at her home, they explained to her that other people in the area had reported finding elastic bands on their door handles and they explained why burglars placed them there.
