Angelina Jolie accused Brad Pitt of ‘physical violence’ towards her prior to their infamous airplane altercation in 2016, as part of the latest high-profile lawsuit.
Angelina Jolie’s legal team claims that Brad Pitt subjected her to physical violence before their airplane altercation in 2016, in recently filed legal documents related to the former spouses’ battle over a French vineyard.
The lawyers of the 48-year-old Jolie filed documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court, stating that the 60-year-old Pitt had previously displayed physical aggression towards Jolie before the well-documented altercation on September 14, 2016, during a flight from Nice.
Pitt has denied all allegations of physical violence, and he was not charged during the FBI investigation into the incident.
“While Pitt’s history of physical abuse against Jolie began long before this flight, it became the first time he also subjected the children to physical violence,” Jolie’s legal team stated.
A source close to the actress revealed that Pitt refused to seek counseling for domestic violence and ignored serious family issues while seeking joint custody of their six children.
Jolie’s attorney, Paul Murphy, told Dailymail.com that the information disclosed in the documents reveals why the ‘Fight Club’ actor wanted Jolie to sign a non-disclosure agreement during their separation.
An insider familiar with the situation told Dailymail.com that the ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ actor brought trouble upon himself due to the prolonged legal battle over the French vineyard. He described the situation as ‘incredibly sad,’ adding that Jolie ‘just wants Pitt to be able to move forward and allow her to be at peace.’
