All the care for the children fell on the shoulders of Prince William. Only recently was he able to resume his duties as a member of the royal family. The prince had a four-week break. Recently, he visited the charity organization «Surplus Supper» in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey. The organization collects «surplus food,» which is still suitable for consumption but is discarded from cafes, restaurants, and stores. The foundation gathers these surplus items and distributes them to funds supporting the less fortunate, homeless shelters, nursing homes, and schools.

One of the volunteers handed Prince William two cards with wishes for a speedy recovery for Kate and the King. William was touched by such care and thanked the woman. She asked him to take care of his wife. He put his hand on her shoulder and said, «I will do that.» After meeting with William, the volunteer was impressed. «The night before, I was at home and thought I should do something. This is a chance to deliver a message directly to the palace officials. I didn’t think I could hand the cards to William. I said, ‘Can I shake your hand?!’ I liked it. He was very down-to-earth. I will never wash my hands again,» she laughed.
