One of Eddie Murphy’s upcoming films has come under investigation due to problems on the set. The Amazon MGM Studios film titled «The Pick Up,» which also starred Pete Davidson and others, made headlines earlier this week after «several» crew members were injured. The studio confirmed this information and stated that they are «in the process of gathering facts.» It has now been confirmed that a federal investigation has been initiated.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is handling the investigation.
It was previously reported that the incident occurred during the filming of the movie’s second part. The crew was shooting a «previously rehearsed» scene that «didn’t go as planned.»
According to the initial Associated Press report, the incident occurred on Saturday, April 20, during filming in Georgia. A truck was used for the scene, which apparently collided with another vehicle. An unnamed source characterized the incident as a «completely bizarre accident» and said it «wasn’t even a complex or dangerous stunt.» It is reported that two crew members were taken to the hospital, and as of Tuesday, one remained hospitalized. AP claims that among the injuries sustained by the individuals involved were bumps, bruises, and fractures.
