But later, the star explained that her relationships with younger men stem from the fact that all her peers were intimidated by her strong personality. She always preferred dating younger men who were “raised by women like her” and thus never feared her.

“And the reason I date younger men is because men my age or older — well, now they’re all dead,” she quipped on Jennifer Hudson’s show this week.

She noted that she herself is “very shy and very timid with men.” Cher has a reputation for dating much younger men, like Rob Camilletti, whom she met in 1986 when she was 40 and he was 22. Rob dated the singer when she won an Oscar for Best Actress in “Moonstruck” in 1988.

With her current partner, 38-year-old Alexander, they first met at Paris Fashion Week in September 2022, and by November, the singer confirmed their romance. When detractors trolled her on social media over the age difference, she boldly responded.
