Today, the middle child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is celebrating her 9th birthday.

“Today, on May 2nd, Princess Charlotte turns 9 — just a week after her brother Louis celebrated his 6th birthday. On that occasion, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also shared a fresh snapshot with their younger heir. And just half an hour ago, they posted a new photo of Charlotte on their official social media account.

In the picture, the princess poses with her hair down and in a relaxed outfit: a denim button-up mini skirt and a red cardigan over a dark blue sweater and a shirt with a floral print. As tradition dictates, the portrait was once again taken by Princess Catherine, who has been photographing the children herself for many years.

“Happy 9th Birthday, Princess Charlotte!” – captioned the photo Kate and William. – “Thank you for your kind wishes.”

Lottie, as many of us called her in her early childhood, is an incredible, kind, generous, and well-mannered princess. I hope she’ll have a wonderful year ahead in her life.

Meanwhile, Charles’s son gave a rare comment about his wife’s health condition, as she is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
