After 10 studio albums and 24 Grammy wins, Kanye West is reportedly considering leaving «professional music.» News of the 47-year-old Flashing Lights hitmaker’s shocking retirement plans was revealed in an alleged text exchange with rapper Rich The Kid.

31-year-old Rich uploaded a screenshot of messages he received from a contact under the nickname «Ye» to Instagram. «I’m leaving professional music. I don’t know what else to do,» the message read.

Rich tried to persuade the father of four to reconsider his decision, even mentioning the recent success of his album Vultures 1 with rapper Ty Dolla $ign.

After the news of Ye’s departure went viral online, Rich deleted the screenshot from Instagram. This led fans to speculate that he might have made the post to draw attention to his upcoming album Life’s A Gamble.

Just a few hours later, Rich announced the release date and tracklist, which includes a new song with West.

Fans were outraged by this way of promoting the album.
