The heroes of the day: Four young boys save a starving, emaciated, and abandoned dog.

As Lamartine asserted: «We do not have two hearts, one for animals and one for humans. We either have a heart or we do not.»

Everywhere, indignity and heroism walk side by side.

This theory was absolutely confirmed when four young boys from 7 Mile in Detroit rushed to save a dog that needed help.

Brothers Kenny, Kevin, and Kenneth Dancy, along with their friend Andrew Daniels, were helping a woman in their neighborhood who was preparing to move when they witnessed a very sad scene.

They noticed an abandoned dog. Skinny and shivering from the cold, the puppy was truly in a pitiful state.

The boys acted quickly. They covered the dog with a coat to warm it up and took it home to feed and give it water. They named it Sparkle.

While our little heroes were walking Sparkle around the neighborhood, they met members of Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs.

After hearing Sparkle’s touching story, the organization decided to take care of the dog’s veterinary needs. They took the time to thank the boys in a Facebook video, calling them «heroes.»

They also announced that Sparkle did not have mange, meaning he was ready for adoption.

In the meantime, the four young boys, having received numerous praises for their behavior, rescued two more dogs in the same neighborhood. With the help of the animal protection organization, they were able to take the stray dogs to the vet to receive necessary care.
