It is well known by everyone that animals, just like humans, are capable of feeling and expressing their emotions in a way very similar to us; they can feel joy or sadness when something happens in their daily lives.

There are some scientific studies that show us that these animals, such as dogs or cats, which are considered «companions,» regularly feel the loss of a loved one, especially when it comes to their loyal friend and companion. We can see how they go through a process of grief or mourning for some time.

This case became evident after we saw the tender gesture of this Chihuahua, who showed how much he misses his canine friend and companion after he passed away. Every afternoon, as usual, he lies on a plush toy that looks very similar to his old friend, evoking a lot of nostalgia among netizens.

“Animals definitely show us once again that their feelings and emotions are just as valid and important as any human’s”; “Poor little dog, you can tell how sad he is right now.” These were some of the comments seen on social media.

According to the post, the dog named Tiny Tim became very close to Big Ben, a Great Pyrenees, after he joined the family in 2016. His owner, Jenny Leech, commented, “Several times a day, I would walk out of the room into the living room and find Tim sound asleep on top of Ben.”

Although the breeds were completely different, both managed to form a lovely and tender friendship, as they used to spend the whole day together, playing and filling every corner of the house with joy, all this during the six years that Ben was in the home.

“In the early years, when both had much more energy and agility, they would fall asleep on the sofa, and Tim would lie right on top of him.” Jenny commented.

Of course, as the years went by, Ben began to have mobility problems, so Tiny started giving him space but without straying too far away.

“Instead of his usual antics like climbing on and sleeping on Ben, Tim was much more gentle and considerate and learned to be content napping or sitting next to him.” Jenny commented.

Unfortunately, in 2022, Big Ben suffered a stroke, which increasingly affected the dog, passing away at 13 years old. What Jenny never expected was that after seeing her post, a user would send a sweet gift directly to her doorstep: a huge plush toy that resembled his old friend.

“She sent him this enormous stuffed dog, and as soon as I placed it on the couch, Tim claimed it as his own. Honestly, it felt like the old days, like when we would walk into the living room and see Tim lying on Ben on the sofa. It was almost exactly the same position Tim used to lie on Ben.” Jenny commented.
