Bennifer Faces Challenges Selling $68 Million Marital Mansion Amid Ongoing Divorce
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who started this week with a visit to a divorce attorney, are going through another difficult phase. According to *TMZ*, the couple, currently in the process of divorcing, nearly sealed a deal to sell their home for $64 million, which is significantly below the original asking price. However, potential buyers from New Jersey backed out of the sale due to a family member’s death.
Insiders claim that despite the family tragedy, the couple, whose identities remain unknown to the public, are still interested in purchasing the house. Even with a deal at $64 million, Affleck and Lopez will face financial losses due to the high 5.25% mansion tax, realtor fees, and millions spent on renovating the property. Initially, they bought the house for $60.8 million in 2023.

Lopez and Affleck first listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68 million in July of this year after trying to sell it quietly without putting it on the open real estate market. The massive estate features a separate guest penthouse, a caretaker’s house, a spacious 12-car garage, and parking space for 80 cars. For home recreation, the mansion includes a fully equipped gym, a boxing ring, a sports hall, a bar, as well as basketball and pickleball courts.
Earlier this month, a source told *People* that J.Lo was never a fan of large homes, stating that the idea of the mansion originally came from Ben, and purchasing the house was a significant compromise for her.
«She agreed to this house because of its spacious layout, which accommodated both of their families (Jennifer has twins, and Ben has three children), the gym, office spaces, and two separate entrances,»
— the insider shared.
Earlier this summer, Affleck moved out of the family home and into a rental in Brentwood to be closer to his children. In July, the actor purchased a mansion in Pacific Palisades for $20.5 million, while Jennifer is still searching for a new home for herself and her kids.
