Clementine, found on the streets of Southern California, was placed in a shelter. However, there she remained depressed and withdrawn, barely interacting with people.
Her condition worsened due to several illnesses, and the shelter staff believed she would be impossible to rehome. While other dogs found new families, Clementine remained in her cage, slowly losing hope.
The Threat of Euthanasia
Over time, her fears intensified, and she was added to the euthanasia list. With just two days remaining, an unexpected event occurred—a woman came forward, wanting to take Clementine home.
Elizabeth’s Rescue
Elizabeth Cossart saw the dog’s picture on the shelter’s website. Her heart sank at the sight of Clementine’s sad, empty gaze and slumped posture. She felt compelled to save this dog and determinedly took her home.
Clementine’s New Life
Elizabeth brought Clementine home, where she introduced her to her other dogs—Moose and Maple. This was the beginning of a new, happy chapter in Clementine’s life, which transformed her beyond recognition.
Thanks to care and love, the dog who once seemed lost found hope and a chance for a happy life.
