Canadian travel blogger Mark Harrison, who is well-known for his travel blog, recently visited Armenia. Although he stayed for only 4 days, he managed to collect valuable memories, which he shared with NEWS.am STYLE.
«I was in Georgia, and since the flight to Yerevan was quite short, I decided I had to visit. It was my first time in Armenia,» says the blogger. When asked about his expectations before flying to Yerevan, he replied, «Actually, I never have expectations when visiting any country, so that nothing disappoints me afterward. I spent just 4 days there, mostly in Yerevan. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to travel outside the city, but I did manage to visit Etchmiadzin and Zvartnots, which impressed me a lot.»
Mark was also captivated by Armenian cuisine, but his favorite dish was Boraki. «It’s so rich with flour, very impressive,» he said.
The famous Canadian traveler, who has hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram and YouTube, and over a million on TikTok, said he was especially fascinated by Armenia’s ancient history.
«Armenia is such an ancient and important country. It’s the first country to adopt Christianity as a state religion. That’s crazy… I’m from Canada, and we’re a fairly new nation, so we don’t have such a long history.»
Mark began traveling in 2012 and has already visited 88 countries.
«My journey started in Austria, and I fell in love with traveling after that. I’m never satisfied with just being in new places,» he said. His favorite countries include Bolivia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Antarctica, and Mexico.
«Traveling broadens my horizons and helps me realize that the way I was raised isn’t the only or the best path for me. There are so many other ways to enjoy life fully.»
As for returning to Armenia, he added, «I hope to come back one day and discover even more places.»
