A little old dog waited for several days for help in a ditch from which it could not climb out.

A couple of weeks ago, an old dog came into the hands of a volunteer named Yulia. He was found in a ditch by the roadside—unable to climb out due to problems with his paws and coordination. For several days, the dog desperately called for help, but none of the neighbors rushed to rescue him.

When Yulia, who was informed of the misfortune, arrived at the scene, she didn’t immediately realize that it was a dog. The animal had matted fur, and its eyes were teary. It had almost no muscle mass, making the dog look like a skeleton covered in fur. A long recovery lay ahead.

At the veterinary clinic, it was discovered that the dog was about ten years old. He had weak hearing and was underweight. Yulia understood that she couldn’t abandon the animal in distress. Naming the foundling Leva, she began the rehabilitation process.

The dog turned out to be very sociable. Leva enjoyed every minute with Yulia. He happily wore clothes, as his trimmed fur didn’t allow him to stay warm on his own. He also enjoyed eating, and the volunteer team suspects that Leva had been starving in the past.

There was only one problem: Leva was afraid of sudden movements. It’s likely that he had been mistreated by his previous owners. But every time the little one realized it was Yulia in front of him, he calmed down and began to wag his tail happily.

Yulia has grown attached to the dog, but due to personal circumstances, she cannot keep him. That’s why Leva, who has finally adapted to city life, is looking for a new loving family.
