Service Dogs: A Story of Loyalty and Reunion
Service dogs are trained and disciplined companions. Unfortunately, not all animals are fortunate enough to work with the same human partner throughout their service. Many change partners multiple times during their careers due to retirements, relocations, or even deaths. Dogs are not robots; they form bonds with the people they work with, and when these individuals leave for any reason, the dogs feel a sense of nostalgia.
Recently, a video circulated online about a German Shepherd from China named Wang-Wang. The dog served in the police for eight years. As he aged, he was honorably retired. After a well-deserved retirement, he was placed with a good family that ensured he had a comfortable, happy, and worry-free old age.
However, despite the excellent conditions in his new home, the dog missed his handler. As it turned out, his handler’s heart was not made of stone either. The man also felt nostalgic for his four-legged colleague, so he decided to pay a visit. The reunion was incredibly emotional.
Upon seeing his handler, Wang-Wang leaped towards him, wagging his tail. The dog lay at the feet of his former partner, showing love and loyalty. He willingly allowed himself to be petted, licking his handler’s hands, and there were genuine tears in his eyes.
