Star chef Jamie Oliver has called for help in finding the thieves who stole £300,000 worth of cheese.

Famous chef Jamie Oliver has called on cheese lovers to help the police catch the thieves who stole English and Welsh cheddar cheeses worth over £300,000, according to the Guardian.

The British Neal’s Yard Dairy cheese supplier and retailer delivered 22 tons of cheddar to an alleged fraudster posing as a wholesaler for a large French retailer, only to realize later that he had been deceived.

Oliver described the incident as “a shocking scale of brazen robbery.” He urged his Instagram followers to be vigilant if they hear about “very luxurious cheese trucks” being offered at “cheap” prices, adding that the initial value of the cheddar was about £300,000.

The stolen cheeses, including Hafod Welsh, Westcombe, and Pitchfork cheddar, have won several awards and are among “the most sought-after cheeses in Great Britain,” said Neal’s Yard Dairy.

These cheeses are sold for £7.15-£12.90 (for a small piece weighing 250-300 grams).
