“One of the Best Women in the World”: Milla Jovovich Shared Rare Photos of Her Mom

World-renowned Hollywood actress and model Milla Jovovich, born in Kyiv, publicly reached out to her mother — Soviet and American actress Galina Loginova. The star of “The Fifth Element,” “Resident Evil,” and “Return to the Blue Lagoon” celebrated her mother’s birthday with a heartfelt message.

In honor of Galina’s 73rd birthday on October 28, Milla shared a collection of rare family photos on Instagram. In the photos, Loginova is seen dressed in black lace with bold makeup. Judging by the pictures, Milla’s mother celebrated her special day at an Asian restaurant, accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law, director Paul Anderson.

“Happy birthday to my wonderful mom! You’ve done everything in your power to raise me well, to teach me what you know, and to guide me in life. You have always been a source of strength in our family and continue to be. We all love and celebrate you every day! I love you, mom! Happy Birthday to one of the best women and mothers in the world!” Milla wrote.

It’s worth noting that Loginova was born to Russian parents, yet spent her childhood and youth in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro). After studying at VGIK, she returned to Ukraine and worked as an actress at the Dovzhenko Film Studio for a time. Her most notable roles include Beatrice in the television film “Much Ado About Nothing” (1973) and Molly in the detective film “The Fairfax Millions” (1980).
