A resourceful young woman customizes a cart to help transport her newly rescued pup!

The rescue operation carried out in November 2021 found 107 dogs. One of these dogs was called Turkey and had lost his sight.

Although Turkey was saved, the lack of vision posed significant challenges in his life. Jessica Brown, Chief Operating Officer of Bark Nation, noted, «The dog has lost his sense of sight, but that does not take away from his life expectancy.»

Jessica Brown was profoundly touched when she discovered Turkey, who was tethered with a heavy chain inside a dilapidated doghouse. After his recovery, he received much-needed health care from the organization.

“Turkey is the SWEETEST dog and has won the hearts of every one of our volunteers,” said Jessica Brown.

Turkey with his special cart

“Turkey is looking for a forever family! He dreams of watching Disney movies, enjoying cheese pizza, and snuggling with his loved ones on the couch. He has gotten along well with the other dogs at the shelter, but he will need a gradual introduction to any pets in his future home (and our team is happy to assist with this),” the rescuer explained.

Turkey enjoying his time at the shelter

“Turkey is known as the king! He truly comes from a royal background. His Highness has a special cart and a dedicated entourage that takes him everywhere he needs to go, including fun outings! He absolutely loves it!” the charity shared on social media.

Turkey's royal lifestyle

Fortunately, Turkey’s story ended on a hopeful note. We hope that all animals can find loving homes where they are guaranteed food and, above all, plenty of love.
