Taylor Swift has become the main winner of the MTV EMA Awards, and she also paid tribute to Liam Payne.

Swift won awards for «Best Video,» «Best Artist,» «Best Live Performance,» and «Best American Act» for her song «Fortnight» (feat. Post Malone). She was followed by Tyla, who secured wins in the categories of «Best Afrobeats,» «Best R&B,» and «Best African Act.»

During the show, Rita Ora paid an emotional tribute to former One Direction singer Liam Payne, who tragically passed away last month at the age of 31 after falling from a balcony in Argentina. Ora had collaborated with Payne on the 2018 single «For You.» «He had a big heart and was always the first to offer help in any way he could. He brought so much joy into every room he entered and left an unforgettable mark on this world,» she said tearfully. «So, let’s take a moment to remember our friend Liam,» she added.
