My daughter-in-law told me I was too old to wear “this” swimsuit.

If age is a joy… It’s wonderful when a person enjoys every day of their life, but sometimes relatives don’t agree… I was always proud of my youth and considered age to be just a number. One hot summer day at my son’s villa, my resilience was put to the test.

My son’s mansion, a symbol of his hard work, was magnificent, but it was overshadowed by my daughter-in-law Karen. She had changed after marrying my son, became arrogant, and thought she would dominate everything, which my son silently supported.

On a hot day, I wore my favorite swimsuit and was ready to enjoy the pool. When Karen saw me, she laughed: “Old lady, you can’t wear that, cover up your wrinkles!” Her words deeply hurt me. I pretended to sunbathe, hid my tears, but was determined not to let her humiliate me. Then I took out an album with her pre-wedding photos. Her friends became interested, and Karen blushed with embarrassment. “Mary, this is inappropriate,” she hissed. I smiled. “We all started modestly.”

The atmosphere changed; Karen’s friends saw it differently. Later, my son, who had heard about the incident, understood my pain. Karen became calmer, and her arrogance disappeared. My son made sure that such behavior would never happen again.
