78-year-old Cher has recently been strutting down the runway, released her memoirs, and launched a new album. Now, the singer is talking about cinema.
Cher plans to star in the third installment of the “Mamma Mia!” movie. “We’re talking about it. I don’t know when they’re going to do it, but I know they are discussing it,” Cher told Entertainment Weekly.
The star joined the musical franchise in the second “Mamma Mia!” film in 2018. She played the mother of the late Donna (Meryl Streep), who unexpectedly shows up in front of her granddaughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) and her group at the opening of a hotel.
Cher and Meryl Streep have been friends for decades, starting from their collaboration in the 1983 film “Silkwood.” They are so close that Cher is trying to bring Streep back for the third movie, despite the fact that her character died in the second installment.
