Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese are co-producing a TV series. Here’s who will play the lead role.

Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese have decided to breathe new life into the classic thriller. They are serving as executive producers for the remake of the film *Cape Fear*.

The lead role in the film will be played by *Dune* star Javier Bardem. He will portray the antagonist, which sounds very promising. His character, Anton Chigurh from *No Country for Old Men*, was considered by film critics and forensic experts to be the most convincing villain.

The remake will tell the story of happily married lawyers Amanda and Steve Bowden, whose lives are endangered when criminal Max Cady (Bardem) is released from prison after serving a long sentence for rape. He is filled with hatred for his lawyer Steve, who 14 years earlier withheld information that might have exonerated Max. All this time, Max has been plotting his revenge, according to Variety.

Work on the 10-episode project was first announced in 2023. By the way, Scorsese and Spielberg worked together on the original version of the story in 1991. Back then, Scorsese directed, while Spielberg also served as a producer. The main antagonist of the thriller was played by Robert De Niro.
