Lily-Rose Depp says she loved The Idol despite the controversial reactions to the series, reports People.
The 25-year-old actress shared in an interview with Vanity Fair that she has no regrets about starring in the HBO series alongside The Weeknd, which was canceled in August 2023 after its first season aired.
“I love it. Honestly, I do,” she said.
The show follows the story of an emerging pop star (Depp) who enters into a complicated relationship with the owner of a nightclub (The Weeknd).
“We’re making something, and we hope people like it,” Depp continued. “But we always knew that some people wouldn’t like it, and for some, it would be too much. But I’m behind the film. We made a decision, and we went for it.”
Depp explained that she enjoys interacting with fans who appreciated the series, which was created by Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson.
