“It’s a great loss”: Demi Moore shared the latest news about Bruce Willis’ condition
The actress continues to support her ex-husband and his family.

Two years since the news about the “Die Hard” star’s dementia, 69-year-old Bruce Willis has significantly changed. He struggles with memory loss and speaks very little. However, there is some good news, which his ex-wife Demi Moore shared in an interview with CNN. She assured that Willis’ rapid health decline has slowed, and he is now “in a very stable condition.”

“I’ve said this before, but I truly mean it: for anyone dealing with this kind of illness in their loved ones, it is so important to accept them as they are, and that’s where such love and joy come from,” she shared.

The Substance star explained that it has been “very difficult” for her to watch the father of five struggle with his health and added:

“This is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It’s a great loss, but there’s also a lot of beauty and gifts that can come from it.”

The family of the Hollywood icon announced his diagnosis in February 2023, shortly after he retired from acting due to a brain disorder known as aphasia, which affects speech and language comprehension. Since then, Willis has received numerous letters filled with love and support from close friends and family members who are concerned about his health.

In October, his wife, Emma Heming, spoke about Willis’ battle with dementia and revealed that she is not hiding his diagnosis from their daughters.

“This disease is often misdiagnosed, overlooked, or misunderstood. So, finally getting the diagnosis was a key moment for me to understand what frontal temporal dementia is and explain it to our children.”

Emma added:

“I never tried to sugarcoat the situation for them. They’re used to seeing Bruce decline over the years. I’m not trying to shield them from it. I learned from our therapist that if the children ask questions, it means they’re ready to hear the answer. If we saw that Bruce was struggling, I would talk to the children about it so they could understand, but this is a chronic, progressive, and irreversible illness.”

Heming clarified that 12-year-old Mabel and 10-year-old Evelyn “don’t discuss” what the disease might lead to but “know that Dad won’t get better.”
