Tim Allen Reveals New Details About the Script of the Highly Anticipated Toy Story 5.

In a conversation with Collider, the 71-year-old actor shared that he will once again lend his voice to the beloved character Buzz Lightyear.

While no specific plot details were disclosed, Allen teased that the script is unlike anything he has ever read: “It’s a very, very smart story.”

“If they hadn’t come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn’t have called me and Tom [Hanks],” he added. Allen emphasized just how “smart” the storyline is but admitted that stepping back into the character was initially “really challenging.” Reflecting on the role he’s played since *Toy Story* first premiered in 1995, Allen remarked, “I’m so lucky to be Buzz Lightyear, to be honest. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

The release of *Toy Story 5* is scheduled for June 19, 2026.
