Elton John and Madonna have reconciled after a 20-year feud. The singer decided to bury the “hatchet” and was the first to apologize to his colleague.

The two celebrities fell out many years ago after Elton made unflattering comments about Madonna. The artist admitted that it hurt her deeply to learn about the hatred from someone she had admired. Despite crossing paths at events in the following years, they were in no hurry to make amends. But recently, John acknowledged his mistake.

According to Madonna, the singer approached her backstage and simply said, “Forgive me.”

“In that moment, the wall between us came down. Forgiveness is a powerful tool. Within minutes, we were hugging,” the artist shared.

On social media, Elton expressed his admiration for Madonna and said he regretted having hurt her in the past. He is now happy that they can “move forward together.”
