56-year-old racing driver Michael Schumacher becomes a grandfather for the first time — his granddaughter has been born.
There is joyful news in the family of 56-year-old racing legend Michael Schumacher, who suffered a severe injury at a ski resort in 2013 — he has become a grandfather for the first time. The daughter of the former Formula 1 driver, Gina-Maria, announced the birth of her baby.
The racer’s daughter revealed her pregnancy in December last year, saying she was expecting a baby girl in April. However, the little one arrived a bit earlier — on March 29. The girl has been named Millie.
“Welcome to the world, Millie. She was born on March 29. Our hearts are overflowing with love like never before. We are beyond happy to have you in our lives now,” wrote 28-year-old Gina-Maria on her social media page, sharing a photo of a tiny baby hand.
In 1995, Michael Schumacher married Corinna Betsch, an equestrian athlete. In 1997, their daughter Gina-Maria was born, who followed in her mother’s footsteps and took up horseback riding. Two years later, the couple welcomed a son, Mick, who went on to become a racing driver himself.
In October 2024, Schumacher’s daughter married Ian Bethke. The wedding was held in utmost privacy. The racing legend was unable to attend the ceremony.
