Meghan Markle Reveals Postpartum Preeclampsia Diagnosis
Meghan Markle has spoken publicly about a serious health condition she experienced after the birth of her second child. According to CNN, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that she was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia.
The admission was made during the first episode of her podcast titled The Businesswoman’s Confession. Meghan described the diagnosis as rare and frightening, noting that it can pose a serious risk to a mother’s health.
Postpartum preeclampsia is a condition that can develop within six weeks after childbirth. It is associated with elevated blood pressure and requires careful medical attention.
Preeclampsia affects approximately 5 to 8 percent of pregnancies. Common symptoms may include persistent headaches, swelling, breathing difficulties, vision changes, abdominal discomfort, and nausea.
Medical experts warn that, if left untreated, the condition can lead to severe complications. Meghan emphasized the importance of awareness and listening to one’s body during the postpartum period.
Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in 2018. In 2020, the couple stepped back from their royal duties and relocated to Los Angeles.
They are now raising two children, son Archie and daughter Lilibet, while continuing to speak openly about personal challenges and mental and physical health issues.
