Actor Eric Dane Reveals Sclerosis Diagnosis to Fans
Actor Eric Dane, best known for his role in Grey’s Anatomy, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with sclerosis at the age of 52. Despite the serious news, the star remains optimistic and is determined to keep living and working to the fullest, according to People.
Eric admitted that this is a challenging period in his life, but he feels incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from his loved ones. In a surprising turn of events, his ex-wife Rebecca Gayheart — whom he separated from nearly seven years ago — has returned to be by his side.
According to the actor, the diagnosis won’t stop him from continuing to delight fans with new projects. He plans to keep acting as long as he’s physically able. One of his upcoming commitments includes working on the popular series Euphoria.
“I feel lucky that I can still work. I’m heading back to set next week, and I’m really looking forward to it,” Dane shared.
It’s important to note that Eric was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) — a progressive and currently incurable disease. ALS gradually leads to muscle paralysis, and over time, those affected lose the ability to walk, speak, and even breathe.
