Linda Evangelista is still struggling with the psychological effects of a cosmetic procedure that “distorted” her body.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 59-year-old supermodel discussed several health issues she’s faced over the past decade, including a double mastectomy, the removal of a breast tumor, keloid scarring, and a CoolSculpting cosmetic procedure.
“There have been many surgeries. I’m good. I’m okay with that. I won,” she said.
The star also spoke about the cosmetic procedure that ended in a lawsuit, which she and CoolSculpting settled in 2022.
“I need therapy to love my reflection in the mirror, but I still don’t look at myself in the mirror. I didn’t want to see myself because I didn’t like myself, and I didn’t like what I saw,” she confided. “I’m working on myself and trying to accept myself with all my flaws and trying to love myself.”
Evangelista first shared her story about CoolSculpting, the popular “fat freezing” procedure that serves as a non-invasive alternative to liposuction, in 2021. She claimed that the procedure had distorted and deformed her body.
Later, in 2022, she told PEOPLE about the emotional and physical pain she endured after several CoolSculpting sessions in 2015-2016. The model explained that she began noticing her skin swelling and hardening in the areas where she had the procedure. She filed a lawsuit demanding $50 million in compensation, claiming she was unable to work.
