“I had hoped he wouldn’t become an actor.” Nagiev’s fears about the fate of his eldest son have come true.

Dmitry Nagiev has never hidden his principles when it comes to a career in the arts—especially concerning his children.

The actor’s eldest son, Kirill, has already made a name for himself in the film industry, starring in popular projects like Kholop, Wish Marathon, and Daddy’s Daughters. However, despite Kirill’s noticeable success, Nagiev remains reserved about his son’s career choice.

In a recent interview, Dmitry candidly admitted that he never envisioned Kirill becoming an actor.
“I had hoped he wouldn’t go into acting, but then he chose the Moscow Art Theatre School,” Nagiev shared. This decision came as a surprise to him, as the acting profession requires not only talent but also tremendous emotional strength and a willingness to face constant challenges.

Dmitry Nagiev's secret son turned out to be an intellectual. The actor kept this 16-year-old handsome young man hidden.

Nagiev also worries about his younger son, Mark, who is now 16 years old. He’s unsure whether Mark will follow in the family’s acting footsteps or choose his own path.

As for 35-year-old Kirill, he is very selective about the roles he takes. Dmitry recalls being surprised when his son turned down a lucrative TV series.

“I asked, ‘Why did you say no? That was good money!’ And he replied, ‘Your father was from Central Asia. Mine is Dmitry Nagiev.’”

Nagiev emphasizes that acting is a profession full of risks. He notes that success in the field doesn’t always guarantee a steady income:“You earn exactly as much as you work,” he summed up, stressing that for an actor, it’s not just about shining on screen but also being able to overcome life’s challenges.
