It is reported that the 87-year-old actor is asking $6.4 million for two adjoining lots that were severely damaged by the fire. Hopkins originally purchased the estate in two stages, in 2018 and 2019, spending a total of $12.6 million. Despite the devastating loss, Hopkins remains composed. In an interview with The Mirror, he said:

“As we all try to recover from the destructive aftermath of these fires, it’s important to remember that the only thing we truly take with us is the love we give.”

This is not the first time the actor’s home has been threatened by fire. In November 2018, his Malibu residence narrowly escaped the Woolsey Fire, which destroyed the property of his neighbor. Earlier, in 2000, his London home burned down in another blaze—fortunately, Hopkins was in Los Angeles at the time.

The January wildfires claimed ten lives, forced thousands to evacuate, and completely devastated the Palisades area. Among those affected were celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Diane Warren, and Ricki Lake.
