Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, has announced his engagement to American socialite Bettina Anderson.
According to Page Six, the couple decided to take the next step in their relationship after dating for about a year. Speculation about the engagement began when Anderson was recently spotted wearing a noticeable diamond ring on her ring finger.
Representatives for the couple later confirmed the news, which was soon followed by a public comment from the U.S. president himself.
“They get along very well and just told me they’re going to get married,” Donald Trump said while speaking to reporters at the White House.
Trump Jr.’s relationship with Anderson became public last year, around the time his romance with former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle was coming to an end. Since then, the pair have frequently appeared in society news and public events.
This is not the first marriage for the president’s eldest son. In 2005, Donald Trump Jr. married socialite Vanessa Pergolizzi. The couple divorced in 2018 and share five children together.
News of the engagement quickly attracted attention from U.S. media outlets and social platforms, becoming one of the most talked-about social stories of the week.
Earlier reports also noted that First Lady Melania Trump personally oversaw the Christmas decorations at the White House, selecting the holiday design according to her own vision.
